Blind Jam Dev Blog – 001

So I joined a jam to ring in the new year, Blind Jam – focused on creating a game that can be played solely without any visual content.

I’ve spent the last day building a list of concerns, techs I want to try, concepts, story, even writing some dialogue. From WWISE integration for audio to the new Unity preview InputAction’s interfaces for controller support.

One of my core concerns is that everything must be relatable via audio or haptic cues, from introducing controls to navigating the game world I am designing in my head.

I’ve built myself out a basic kanban board on the private repo, and focusing on input controls first with a character controller and learning the new preview input system. I will be developing with the camera enabled at first.

There isn’t much to show off yet. Time to dig in and learn this new input interface.
